AFP Grants Last Wish of the Mother of Slain CTG Member, A Heartfelt Gesture in the Call for Unity and Peace

NSFA, Panacan, Davao City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) granted the request of the mother of the slain Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) leader who died during an armed encounter that transpired in Sitio Sunny Day, Purok 8 (Camp 9), Brgy. Butong, Quezon, Bukidnon on April 10.

Mrs. Helena C. Peralta, the mother of Kaliska Dominica Peralta, also known as Rica/Tomboy, requested the assistance of the AFP to transport the remains of their daughter upon learning of her tragic demise.

Kaliska Dominica Peralta also known as Rica/Tomboy, is a 33-year-old former UP Diliman student and a member of the LGBTQ Community. She is a resident of Muntinlupa City, blinded by the twisted ideology of the communist NPA terrorists that led to her tragic death. She served as the Political Officer of the Weakened Guerilla Front 57 (WGF57), Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC). It was also the place where her fellow members were also captured.

Further, Peralta’s mother requested the transport of her daughter’s remains back to their hometown for them to mourn her tragic death.

The transport of the cadaver was facilitated by the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) under the supervision of LtGen. Greg T. Almerol, EastMinCom Commander, in coordination with the Tactical Operations Group – 11 (TOG11) of the Tactical Operations Wing – Eastern Mindanao (TOW-EM) via the Philippine Air Force C-130 Aircraft. The remains of Peralta were received by her whole family at the Villamor Airbase, Pasay City on the night of April 13.

Meanwhile, LtGen. Almerol extended his condolences to the family of the slain CTG member and expressed his deep concern over the students lured into the armed struggle.

“Let us stand united against the lure of the communist NPA ideology and embrace peaceful means of advocacy and dialogue to inflict positive change in our society. Reject violence and extremism, and let us work towards building a brighter future for all Filipinos”, he said.

EastMinCom extends its condolences to the bereaved family of Peralta, acknowledging the complexity and human toll of such armed encounters.#
